Dear Reader,
Happy Women’s History Month and belated Happy International Women’s Day!!
Think about all the women in your life: from your mum, your sister, to your aunt, to your grandmother and your friend. How have they blessed your life? Let’s Begin :)
If you would prefer to listen to this week’s poem, here it is: I Am Woman
I Am Woman
Mentality as old as time A tradition, the bedrock of civilisation Passed down from generation to generation Shiny like a heirloom in its prime Stripped of the privilege to be Forced at a young age to mature Boys will always be boys But girls have to become women Learn how to cook Keep your voice down That is how men are Is this how you would behave in your husband’s house? My forefathers thought themselves correct To prepare the next generation But right was not right Just because of where they stood From the overlooked pillar of rooms guarded To the spice in the choice meals I am the sonorous voice of the anthem of nations The thread in the fabrics covering your nakedness From the essence of the next generation’s existence To the binding force of peace I am the covered light The first wonder I am a friend A sister, A daughter, A wife I am a Woman
I am the sonorous voice of the anthem of nations
The thread in the fabrics covering your nakedness
This week’s poem, I Am Woman, is dedicated to every woman. You are loved, valued, and worthy. If no one will applaud you, I clap for you today and every day. If no one will give you flowers, I give you one today and every day that comes after💐.
You matter. Never for one second think that you do not. The Creator saw it fitting to bless creation with your existence and I know for sure that He never makes mistakes.
Thank you for reading Grace & Faith in Verse.
Until next time, God willing
Shalom✨
